Tree planting

As part of the celebrations of AAF’s 100th anniversary we will be working with employees and local communities in our various locations to plant 100 trees. AAF has been filtering air since May 1921 and planting trees is a great way to commemorate this milestone and is nature’s own way of ‘bringing clean air to life’!

Bringing clean air to life

Trees help to clean the air we breathe, adsorbing harmful pollutants and releasing oxygen for us to breathe. Trees also cool the planet by drawing in and storing harmful greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into their trunks, branches, and leaves. In addition, trees allow wildlife to flourish and play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides.

Urban revolution

In urban environments, trees absorb pollutant gases like nitrogen oxides, and carbon monoxide, and sweep up particles like dust and smoke. Healthy, strong trees act as carbon sinks, reducing the effects of climate change. In summer months trees also help to lower the temperature of a city, reducing reduce energy use.

Trees make us happier

It's been proven that just looking at trees can make us feel happier, less stressed and more creative. Trees release chemicals called phytoncides and when we breathe them in, it can have amazing effects, reducing blood pressure, lowering anxiety levels and they can even boost our levels of anti-cancer proteins!
